Member Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-05-24

These Member Terms of Service ("Member Terms") apply to individuals who register as a member of a mosque, Islamic centre, or organisation ("your Mosque") through the Masjida platform. By creating a member account or using any Masjida member-facing services, you agree to these Member Terms.

The Masjida platform is operated by Masjida ApS, CVR 44177099, Åbenråvej 10, 4200 Slagelse, Denmark ("Masjida", "we", "us", "our").

1

Relationship Between Parties

  1. Your Mosque is your primary relationship. When you register as a member, you are entering into a relationship with your Mosque. Your Mosque decides what data to collect, what membership plans to offer, and how to manage your membership.
  2. Masjida provides the technology. We provide the software platform that your Mosque uses to manage memberships, events, payments, and communications. We act as a technology provider (data processor) on behalf of your Mosque (data controller).
  3. Two sets of terms. Your membership with your Mosque may also be subject to the Mosque's own rules and bylaws. These Member Terms govern your use of the Masjida platform itself.

2

Account Registration

  1. To register as a member, you must provide accurate information as requested by your Mosque (typically: name, email address, and optionally phone, address, and date of birth).
  2. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Do not share your password with anyone.
  3. Your account is specific to one Mosque. If you are a member of multiple mosques using Masjida, you will have a separate account for each.
  4. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account yourself. Members under 16 may be registered by a parent or guardian, who accepts these Member Terms on the minor's behalf. The age threshold may differ in your country in accordance with local law and GDPR Article 8.

3

Platform Features for Members

Depending on your Mosque's configuration, you may be able to:

View and update your personal profile
View prayer times for your Mosque
Browse and register for events
Read news and announcements
View your membership & subscription
Pay membership fees & donations online
View invoices and payment history
Receive email notifications

Not all features are available at all mosques — your Mosque chooses which features to enable.

4

Payments

  1. Who you pay. When you make a payment through the Platform (membership fees, donations, event tickets), you are paying your Mosque, not Masjida. Masjida does not receive, hold, or manage your payment.
  2. Payment processing. Payments are processed by third-party providers such as Stripe and Vipps/MobilePay. Your payment card details are handled directly by these providers in PCI DSS-certified environments. Masjida never sees or stores your full card number.
  3. What we store. We store only: your payment method type (e.g., "Visa"), the last 4 digits of your card, the card expiry date, and a token reference. This allows us to display your saved payment methods and process recurring payments.
  4. Recurring payments. If you subscribe to a membership plan with recurring billing, you authorise automatic charges at the frequency and amount set by your Mosque's plan. You may cancel a recurring subscription at any time through your member portal or by contacting your Mosque.
  5. Refunds. Refund requests should be directed to your Mosque. Masjida does not process refunds on behalf of mosques.
  6. Tax deductions. If you request a tax deduction for a donation (available in certain countries, e.g., Denmark), you may be asked to provide your tax identification number (e.g., CPR number). This data is encrypted at rest and shared only with your Mosque for the purpose of tax reporting.

5

Your Personal Data

  1. Data controller. Your Mosque is the data controller for the personal data it collects about you. Questions about why and how your data is processed should be directed to your Mosque first.
  2. Data processor. Masjida processes your data on behalf of your Mosque as a data processor under GDPR. Our processing is governed by a Data Processing Agreement between Masjida and your Mosque.
  3. What data is collected. Typically: name, email, phone number, address, date of birth, membership details, payment history, event registrations, and any custom fields defined by your Mosque. The exact data depends on your Mosque's configuration.
  4. Security. Your data is protected by encryption in transit (TLS), passwords hashed with bcrypt, tenant isolation (your Mosque's data is separated from all other mosques), and role-based access control.
  5. Your GDPR rights. You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your data, as well as the right to object to processing. To exercise these rights, contact your Mosque. If your Mosque is unresponsive, you may contact Masjida at [email protected] and we will assist.

For full details about data processing, see our Privacy Policy.

6

Acceptable Use

When using the Platform, you agree not to:

  • Provide false or misleading information in your profile
  • Attempt to access data belonging to other members or other mosques
  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or disrupt the Platform
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Platform
  • Harass, abuse, or threaten other users through Platform communications

7

Communications & Marketing

  1. Transactional emails. You will receive emails necessary for your membership, such as registration confirmations, password resets, invoice receipts, and event confirmations. These are not marketing and cannot be opted out of while your account is active.
  2. Marketing communications. Your Mosque may send you news, announcements, and other communications. Marketing consent is separate and optional — you may opt in or out at any time through your member profile or by contacting your Mosque.
  3. Push notifications. If you use a mobile app, push notifications require your explicit consent and can be disabled at any time via your device settings.

8

Account Termination

  1. By you. You may request deletion of your member account at any time by contacting your Mosque. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed in accordance with GDPR, except where retention is required by law (e.g., payment records for tax compliance).
  2. By your Mosque. Your Mosque may deactivate or delete your account at its discretion (e.g., if your membership lapses or is terminated).
  3. By Masjida. We may suspend your account if we detect abusive behaviour, security threats, or violations of these Member Terms.

9

Limitation of Liability

  1. Masjida provides the Platform "as is". We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
  2. Masjida is not responsible for (a) decisions made by your Mosque regarding your membership, (b) the accuracy of prayer times, event details, or other content published by your Mosque, (c) payment disputes between you and your Mosque, or (d) the Mosque's compliance with its own bylaws or applicable law.
  3. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Masjida shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform.

10

Children & Parental Consent

Mosque memberships may include children (e.g., family memberships). Where a member is under 16 years of age:

  • The parent or legal guardian must provide consent for the child's registration and accept these Member Terms on the child's behalf.
  • The parent or guardian is responsible for the accuracy of the child's data and for managing the child's account.
  • The parent or guardian may exercise GDPR rights (access, erasure, etc.) on behalf of the child.

11

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Member Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform or via email. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree with the changes, you may request account deletion.

12

Governing Law

  1. These Member Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark.
  2. If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you also benefit from any mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence.
  3. Disputes shall be resolved in the ordinary courts of Denmark, without prejudice to your right to bring proceedings in your country of residence if you are a consumer.
Section 13
